Repetition

A repetition (often abbreviated as "rep") is the complete execution of an exercise movement from start to finish. For example, during biceps curls at the EISENHORN strenght station, the movement starts with the arm extended, goes through the bending phase to the end position, and then returns. Several repetitions make up a set. The number of repetitions significantly affects the training outcome: few repetitions with high intensity primarily develop maximal strength, while higher repetition numbers are more effective for improving muscular endurance.
