Supercompensation
Supercompensation describes the process in which the body not only restores its original performance level after a training load, but also exceeds it. This increase occurs during the regeneration phase, in which the body improves muscle recovery, energy storage, and neural control. For optimal progress, it is crucial to apply the next training stimulus within the correct time window—applying it too early can lead to overtraining, while applying it too late can result in stagnation.
