Forearm and upper arm muscles
The muscles of the upper and lower arm often work together as a unit but also have very specific functions. Around twenty muscles belong to this category, most of which are located in the forearm. While the upper arm muscles – primarily the biceps and triceps – are responsible for bending and extending the elbow, the forearm muscles consist of flexors and extensors that control lifting, lowering, and rotating the wrist.
Strong forearm muscles are essential for grip strength, stability during lifting, and precision in pulling movements, making them a key component of functional strength.
