Cool-Down

Cool-down is the phase after the workout, during which the intensity is gradually decreased. The goal is to slowly lower the heart rate, relax the muscles, and support the metabolism in removing metabolic by-products such as lactate.

A cool-down can consist of easy jogging, light cycling, gentle mobilization exercises, or static stretching. Especially after intense cardio or muscular endurance sessions, a proper cool-down is beneficial for recovery and helps reduce muscle soreness.
