Latissimus dorsi muscle

The latissimus dorsi gives the upper body its V-shape and is responsible for all pulling movements, such as pull-ups, lat pulldowns, or rowing exercises. Training this muscle also automatically engages the biceps, trapezius muscle, and forearm muscles.

The latissimus dorsi can be targeted through exercises such as pull to chest, tilt your head back, or pull-up with a grip band. These movements not only work the muscle itself but also improve posture, body tension, and core muscles.

For a strong back, the latissimus should not be trained in isolation alone. A holistic approach with thoughtful strength training, for example using MIKE5, is recommended.
