About
Annik Kälin started her career in athletics at the age of ten - from the beginning with a focus on combined events, especially the heptathlon. Emerging from the Prättigau region in Graubünden, she developed into a top Swiss athlete: she won the Swiss heptathlon championship title multiple times and continuously set new records.
In the year 2022, she achieved a major breakthrough at the 2022 European Championships in Munich: With an outstanding performance, the Graubünden athlete secured the bronze medal and at the same time set the Swiss national record in the heptathlon. A year later, at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Annik reached new heights once again. With 6,639 points - another Swiss record - she finished in fourth place and narrowly missed out on a medal.
What sets Annik apart is not only her impressive level of performance, but also her versatility: hurdles, high jump, javelin throw - all of this is part of her competition repertoire, and she masters each discipline with high precision and determination.
Outside the competition arenas, Annik Kälin is a role model for how to develop talents in the long term: with patience after injuries, with mental strength, and with the willingness to improve a little more each season. Her journey shows that excellence is not achieved overnight - but through continuity, passion, and determination.
