Thanks to the “Magic retention function”, the horn is held securely and stably in position without a retaining rope. This means that you no longer need to install or replace a restraining rope.

  • Maximum stability – Benefit from an even more harmonious and robust motion sequence thanks to the 10 mm thick tooth plates and the wider bearing points.

  • Maximum safety – after the upgrade, the horn is no longer under tension in the park position (no restraining rope). This means you can store your EISENHORN more safely than ever after your training session.

  • No more maintenance – The sliding bushes are history and so is maintenance…and black fingers.

This upgrade is only compatible with EISENHORN generations 3, 4 and 5. If you own a generation 6 device, please select the Upgrade 6 to 7. You will find the information on the appliance generation on the rating plate. Depending on the appliance, this is on the column or on the carriage (rear of the center section) . If you are unsure which generation of device you have, please contact us before placing your order.

The upgrade from your EISENHORN 3, 4 or 5 to Generation 7 is quick and easy to install. To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Dismantle and dispose of the restraint rope, the rope clamp and your existing horn.

  • Keep the stop bolt and follow the individual steps in the enclosed instructions to install your upgrade.

  • After fitting your new horn, move it towards the piston.

  • The new ‘magic retention function’ keeps your horn securely in place even without a restraint rope. During assembly, you move the new horn with slight pressure over a small resistance point – exactly where your horn meets the stop bolt. So, every time you switch between the parking and training positions, you will feel a slight resistance. Working invisibly in the background, this new development ensures that your horn remains securely and stably in the desired force level in the training position.

  • For the upgrade, you also need to replace the bolt on the piston – two suitable bolts are included in the scope of delivery. As the bolt is secured with Loctite, a vice is helpful and necessary for the replacement.

  • Tip: You can loosen your piston pin more easily by using a hot air dryer. To do this, point the hot air gun directly at the piston pin at the highest temperature setting for about 3 minutes and at a short distance. You can then loosen the pin with a ring wrench and replace it. As the heated piston pin is hot, please do not touch it without suitable gloves.

Please note that this upgrade is only compatible with EISENHORN generations 3, 4 and 5. Earlier EISENHORN generations are not compatible with this upgrade.
