Upper and lower leg muscles
This overarching muscle group includes the main actors of the leg muscle: the quadriceps on the front, the hamstrings on the back, and the calf muscles in the lower leg. Among them, the quadriceps (musculus quadriceps femoris) is particularly prominent. It covers almost the entire front of the thigh and is primarily responsible for knee extension and stabilization.
The lower leg muscles can be divided into anterior and posterior groups, consisting of extensors and flexors that work together to enable movements such as lifting and pushing off the foot. These muscles not only ensure locomotion but also provide stability, jumping power, and balance.
At the EISENHORN strenght stationn, this muscle group can be trained specifically with exercises such as squats or lunges with resistance band. Depending on the chosen angle and resistance, training can be tailored to develop either strength or endurance in the legs – both of which are crucial for functional fitness and everyday performance.
