Supercompensation

Supercompensation describes the process by which the body, after a training session, not only restores its original performance level but also increases its performance capacity beyond that level. The workout is followed by a recovery phase, during which the body improves muscle function, energy stores, and neural control. For optimal progress, it is crucial to apply the next training stimulus within the correct time window—too early leads to overtraining, too late to stagnation.
