Sarcopenia

Sarcopenia describes the age-related loss of muscle mass and muscle strength. This process often begins subtly from the age of 30 and accelerates in older age if not actively addressed. Strength training is the most effective means against sarcopenia, as it stimulates muscle protein synthesis and maintains both strength and functionality. Regular exercise combined with a protein-rich diet can significantly slow the loss and improve quality of life in older age.
